Job Specific Information:

  • Scrub EP cases: Pacemakers, ICD's, extractions, LAAO's, VT ablations, afib, aflutter, SVT.
  • Run EP med.
  • Document EP procedures.
Location/Locations: Meijer Heart Center - MHC.
Shift Time: 1st shift hours.
Hours: 40hrs.
Shift Length: 10 hours.
Weekend Rotation: None.
On Call: None.
 
Required Certifications:
  • (R) - ARRT.
  • (RCES).
  • (RCIS).
  • ACLS.
  • BLS.
 
Scrub Color: Hospital Provided.
 
Job Description:
Job Summary:
  • Assess hemodynamics/cardiac calculations.
  • Operate equipment.
  • Document procedures.
  • Site management.
  • Patient/family education.
  • Patient preparation.
  • Sterile technique.
  • Processing and saving images.
  • Electrical mapping.
  • Responsibility for preparation of the access site.
  • Intraprocedural handling of instruments.
  • Maintenance of sterile field.
  • Evaluation of changing conditions during procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining basic knowledge of congenital, vascular, structural, cardiac, and electrophysiological procedures.
  • Device pocket closure.
  • Responsible for taking call to cover urgent/emergent procedures.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities, department level education, and adheres to unit based standard work.
 
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent - Cardiovascular Technologist Program, Radiology Technologist Program, or Bachelor's in Health Science.
 
Experience:
  • 2 years of relevant experience – Clinical experience in electrophysiology or invasive cardiology procedures.
 
Licenses/Certifications:
  • CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologist – If hired into role after March 30, 2018 – 3 Yrs – Required.
  • CRT-Reg Card Elect Specialist (RCES) - CCINT'L – Cardiovascular Credentialing International – If hired into role after March 30, 2018 – 3 Yrs – Required.
  • CRT-Reg Card Inter Specialist (RCIS) - CCINT'L – Cardiovascular Credentialing International – If hired into role after March 30, 2018 – 3 Yrs – Required.
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA – American Heart Association – 180 Days – Required.
  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA – American Heart Association – If working with pediatric patients – 180 Days – Required.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA – American Heart Association – 90 Days – Required.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC – client – 60 Days – Required.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Prepares case tables with necessary equipment, sterile supplies, instruments, labels, and medications/solutions for each procedure and performs surgical sponge, needle, and instruments counts.
  • Creates and maintains a sterile and safe environment and provides sterile instruments and supplies to assist in procedures.
  • Communicates and collaborates with patients and other members of the health care team to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
  • Monitor patients undergoing invasive and interventional procedures, capturing and recording hemodynamic/physiologic wave forms and performing calculations.
  • Depending on specialty, must be able to utilize IVUS, FFR, OCT, ICE, Shockwave, IABP, Impella, Atherectomy (laser and rotational), 3D mapping and provide support for cardiac, ablation, peripheral, laser lead extractions, structural heart interventions, pediatric congenital interventions, and implantable device procedures, including pocket closures.
  • Circulates procedures as second circulator, gathering equipment for the procedure, obtaining and resulting ACT and oximetry.
  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • If a Service Provider or Contingent Worker fails to take action required for accurate invoicing within 45 days following the end of a pay cycle in which services were provided, then Client shall not be obligated to make payment to Service Provider for those services.
  • Examples of action: If staff provided services ending the week Sep 3, 2023 and Service Provider does not submit accurate timesheets no later Oct 18, 2023, Client shall not be obligated to pay for the service provided during that timeframe.
  • Supplier must take system action to implement agreed upon rate changes prior to the week the change becomes effective.
  • It is highly recommended that timesheet reconciliation and issue inquiry/correction is performed by the supplier prior to the 45 days.
  • No other forms of invoicing are accepted outside of our timesheet approval process.
