Job Title: ENTRY Phlebotomist I
Location: Lake City, FL 32024
Duration: 4 Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift:

  • Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Rotational Saturday: 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Eastern Time)



Position Overview

The Entry Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the welcoming face of the organization, supporting patients during routine checkups or critical health-related visits. With compassion and professionalism, this role focuses on patient interaction, assisting with check-ins, and maintaining a clean, organized, and reassuring waiting area.

This is an entry-level role into Phlebotomy. Candidates will receive on-the-job training in phlebotomy skills and must be willing and eager to learn. Individuals seeking only a front-desk or greeter position should not apply.

The PSR I plays a vital role in building trust, ensuring privacy, maintaining accuracy, and delivering exceptional customer service. This position is essential in upholding the organization's standard of excellence in patient care, lobby integrity, and overall service experience.




Key Responsibilities



Patient & Customer Service

  • Greet patients upon arrival with warmth, compassion, and professionalism.
  • Assist patients with lobby check-in through self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns with empathy and clarity.
  • Create an environment of trust by explaining procedures and setting expectations.


Phlebotomy Training & Support

  • Demonstrate willingness and readiness to learn phlebotomy skills.
  • Support phlebotomists by covering breaks as needed during downtime.
  • Once trained, confidently perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.


Operational Duties

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional waiting area.
  • Assist with daily operations under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and documentation.
  • Uphold the company’s image and demonstrate organizational commitment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient information at all times.



Required Qualifications



Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED


Experience

  • 1–2 years of client-facing customer service experience required
    (e.g., Retail, Home Health Aide, Hospitality, Reception, etc.)
  • Keyboarding / data entry experience required
  • Prior phlebotomy experience NOT required



Critical Skills

  • Strong customer service abilities — highest priority
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and reliable
  • Willingness to learn new skills, especially phlebotomy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dependability and punctuality are mandatory



Additional Requirements

  • Must arrive on time consistently and be available for all scheduled shifts.
