Phlebotomist II
Duration: 5 months
Locations: Newport Beach CA
Shift: Mon - Fri 6:00am - 3:00pm
Pay range : $24.09/hr - $29.69/hr
Job Summary:
The PSR II represents the face of the company to patients, whether they come in for routine health screenings or critical diagnostic testing. This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring a safe, skillful, and compassionate patient experience. The PSR II will demonstrate leadership behaviors and maintain a strong focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Phlebotomy & Specimen Handling

Draw quality blood specimens (venipuncture, capillary) from patients including pediatric and geriatric populations.

Verify patient identity and obtain signatures to confirm accurate labeling.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing per established protocols.

Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of collections.
Patient Interaction

Explain procedures clearly to patients to promote trust and comfort.

Provide superior customer service with professionalism and empathy.

Promote a positive image of the company to patients, clients, and the public.
Work Environment & Safety

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.

Follow company policies including dress code and health & safety guidelines.
Teamwork & Flexibility

Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Travel as needed to cover multiple locations, often with minimal notice.

Available for flexible scheduling including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Adapt to change quickly and maintain performance in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
-
Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience
-
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience.

Excellent phlebotomy skills across diverse patient populations

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Ability to exercise good judgment within established procedures

Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication

Comfortable working under pressure and managing high volume

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)

Ability to travel to various locations for training and coverage
