Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Therapist Certified
Location: Gretna, LA, 70056
Duration: 11/12/2025 – 02/11/2026
Shift: Day Shift 12 Hour
Schedule: 36 hours per week
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric.

Monitors and weans Oxygen Therapy and Artificial Ventilation.

Draws, analyzes, and reports Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs.

Delivers intermittent therapy.
-
Assists with changing of artificial airways.
-
Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.

Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.

Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.

Performs diagnostic procedures.

Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to patient age.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technical procedures.

Proficient computer skills for data entry and patient information retrieval.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Education:
-
Associate's Degree (Required)
Licensure & Certifications:
-
Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
-
Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
-
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – only for trained therapists working in the NICU
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Job Summary:
-
Provides respiratory care treatment and related services as ordered by a physician in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Attends staff meetings.
-
Performs other related duties as required.
