Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Crestview, FL
Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM; Rotational Saturday, 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a professional and compassionate experience. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and maintaining strict adherence to safety, confidentiality, and compliance standards. The Phlebotomist I fosters trust and confidence while performing procedures skillfully and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection for clinical and forensic testing following established protocols.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
- Update and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Create a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence in all tasks.
- Maintain required documentation and ensure proper inventory of supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent the organization positively to patients and the public.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Medical training preferred (Medical Assistant or Paramedic).
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA).
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required; 1+ year preferred.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are mandatory.
Additional Details:
- Candidates must reside within a 20–25 minute commute to Crestview, FL.
- Rate based on years of direct experience (refer to Southeast rate card).
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
