Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Bristol, CT
Job Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Timings: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, interacting directly with patients to collect quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires a high level of skill, professionalism, and compassion, ensuring patient comfort and confidence throughout the process. The PSR II will work under minimal supervision and may be assigned to various locations including doctor’s offices and patient service centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographics and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the presence of the patient.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and uphold confidentiality standards.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Commitment to company policies, dress code, and guiding principles.
Education & Experience:

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (mandatory in CA, NV, and WA).

Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Experience in customer service (retail or service industry) preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
