Agency Staff
Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: 100% Hybrid (Onsite cadence: Tuesday–Thursday; Work from home: Friday and Monday)

Job Summary
Data Engineers work collaboratively with architects, business intelligence developers, data analysts, and data scientists to build and maintain analytic solutions utilizing both traditional on-premises and cloud-based platforms.
The mid-level Data Engineer is primarily responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines and contributing to the development and maintenance of data assets.
Essential Functions

Under minimal supervision, develop, test, and deploy ELT/ETL processes across multiple sources, targets, and tools.

Provide support and recommendations to associate engineers to enhance their technical skills.

Collaborate with data consumers of varying skill levels on available data sources and potential dataset biases.

Provide operational and ad-hoc support for troubleshooting and maintenance of systems and applications related to data warehouses, datasets, and pipelines.

Assist in data model design under the guidance of senior team members; build models using a variety of sources and targets while learning enterprise architecture standards.

Adhere to best practices and organizational standards of the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure high-quality and reliable data assets.

Follow standards and laws governing the use of sensitive data (PHI and PII).

Learn and apply Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) principles and best practices.

Participate in Agile ceremonies; recommend programming approaches and solutions to complex applications.

Work with senior team members to capture, document, and groom features and stories for planning and execution.

Pursue opportunities to grow business acumen and technical skills; coach less experienced team members.

Actively contribute to the Data Engineering Community of Practice through discussions and special initiatives.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Application Programming, Software Development, Information Systems, Database Administration, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.

Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience required.
