Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Ocoee, FL
Shift: Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Wednesday/Rotational Saturday: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM (every 3rd Saturday) Eastern Time
Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary 4 months, possibility of extension
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Commute Requirements: Must be within a 20-25 minute commute to the job site
Job Overview:
As a Phlebotomist I, you will be the face of the company, providing exceptional care to patients by performing blood draws and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires excellent phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to ensuring patient safety and confidentiality. You will be responsible for creating a trusting atmosphere for patients, explaining procedures clearly, and handling specimens with accuracy and care. You will also be expected to adhere to process excellence and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Blood Collection & Specimen Processing: Accurately perform forensic and clinical blood draws, ensuring specimens are prepared and processed following established protocols.
Patient Interaction: Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures and creating a trusting environment while performing blood draws.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Quality & Safety: Follow safety protocols and maintain a high standard of accuracy in all tasks.
Team Support: Assist with filling dark rooms and covering for colleagues during lunch, vacations, and sick time.
Customer Service: Maintain a positive and professional image when interacting with patients, clients, and colleagues.
Job Requirements:
Phlebotomy Skills: Proficient in performing blood draws on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
Independent Work: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in blood collection, specimen processing, and documentation.
Flexible Schedule: Availability to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as required by staffing needs.
Transportation: Reliable personal transportation to the worksite (public transportation or rideshare services are not acceptable).
Bilingual: Preferred but not required.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
Customer service experience in retail or service environments is preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
Education & Certifications:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
