Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician II is responsible for cleaning, sterilization, processing, organizing, and distributing patient equipment, instruments, supplies, and products used in patient care. This role may also serve as a resource to Sterile Processing Technician I staff.




Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare rooms and organize instruments, equipment, treatment trays, and supplies.

  • Clean and decontaminate instruments, containers, and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectants in compliance with regulations and facility policies.

  • Operate semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.

  • Maintain, replenish, and distribute instruments, reusable medical equipment, and surgical supplies; manage inventory records.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, environmental, and manufacturer practices.

  • Support staff training and serve as a mentor/resource for Sterile Processing Technician I team members.
