R&D Build Coordinator
Job Responsibilities
Build Planning & Coordination: Coordinate end-to-end R&D build activities for premium and high-end ultrasound platforms. Develop detailed build plans and schedules in collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Program Management. Conduct pre-build readiness reviews and drive risk mitigation.
Line & Infrastructure Setup: Coordinate physical line setup for prototype and pilot builds. Ensure production cells are properly configured; verify availability of fixtures, jigs, and tooling. Oversee build floor layout and material flow.
Materials Preparation: Partner with Supply Chain and Engineering to ensure availability of BOM-controlled components, long-lead parts, and ECO-driven changes. Validate material kits and manage shortages/expedites.
Tooling & Equipment Readiness: Ensure required tooling and calibration equipment are validated. Coordinate test bench setup, functional test systems, and environmental setups. Confirm software/firmware alignment with build configurations.
Build Execution: Lead daily build execution activities as the primary point of contact. Track progress aProductst schedules, escalate issues, and ensure adherence to engineering documentation and safety standards.
Documentation & Issue Tracking: Capture build metrics and results. Log and resolve hardware, software, and process issues using structured problem-solving (RCA, 8D). Maintain documentation of deviations, waivers, and engineering changes; generate post-build reports.
Continuous Improvement: Identify process gaps and recommend improvements for future builds. Support the transition from R&D to pilot/production phases and develop standard work for build coordination.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma, Vocational Education.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Research and Development (R&D) environment, Engineering Laboratory, or equivalent.
