Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist II (PSR II)
Position Type: Temporary (Contractor)
Duration: 3 months, possibility of extension
Hours/Week: 20
Days: Weekdays
Shift/Time Zone: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: Conyers, GA 30013
Position Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of our company, interacting directly with patients during routine visits and critical health decisions. The PSR II plays a crucial role in collecting and preparing blood samples for lab testing while ensuring patient safety, trust, and confidence. The successful candidate will exhibit leadership behaviors, focus on process excellence, and maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling patient information. This position requires high attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to perform under pressure while demonstrating excellent customer service.
This role will involve working at various locations, including doctor’s offices, patient service centers, and other sites as needed, with occasional flexibility in working hours.
Key Responsibilities:

Specimen Collection & Processing:
- Perform accurate and efficient blood specimen collection (forensic and clinical) from patients, including pediatric and geriatric patients, following established procedures.
- Process specimens for lab testing in a timely and safe manner.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure correct labeling of specimens.

Patient Interaction:
- Create a trusting and comfortable environment for patients, explaining procedures and drawing blood samples with confidence.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to ensure a positive patient experience.

Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain required records and documentation related to specimen collection and patient information.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality standards.

Operational Excellence:
- Complete daily tasks accurately and on time, following protocols and meeting operational goals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and contribute to maintaining a positive image of the company to patients, clients, and the public.

Other Duties:
- Flexibility to work across multiple locations as needed with minimal notice.
- Travel to different sites and handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Qualifications:

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service setting is preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
- Experience working with geriatric patients is a must.

- Excellent phlebotomy skills, with the ability to handle pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service focus and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).
- Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

- Capable of managing high-volume patient load while maintaining focus and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring quality and safety standards.
Additional Information:
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
- Must be available to travel and work at different locations within a given timeframe.
- Flexible scheduling may be required, including some weekends and holidays.
