Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Elmhurst, NY 11373
Duration: 3 + Months+ contract
Pay Range: $41 - $44/hr. on W2
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 4 weekdays + 1 weekend day, 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day.
Notes: At least 2 years’ acute care experience. Experience with medically complex cases required. First interview: 10–15-minute phone screen. Second interview: in-person.
Job Summary:
- The Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment to patients within an acute care environment.
- This role requires strong clinical skills to manage medically complex cases and deliver safe, effective speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive therapy services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, swallowing, and speech disorders
- Manage care for medically complex patients in an acute care setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Perform dysphagia assessments and interventions
- Document all clinical care accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Educate patients and families on treatment goals and techniques
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education & Licensure:
- Valid license as a Speech Language Pathologist issued by NYSED (Primary Source Verification required).
- BLS Preferred.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience
- Experience working with medically complex cases
- Dysphagia training
- 1 year Speech Clinician experience
