Phlebotomist II
Location: Apopka, FL, 32703
Shift: 6:30-3:30pm Tuesday -Friday Every Saturday 6:30-12:30pm
Duration: 3+ Months
Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and is responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection and processing. This role ensures patient safety, accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent customer service while following established clinical and forensic procedures. The PSR II works independently or in assigned locations such as patient service centers, physician offices, or mobile/in-office settings based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture, capillary, clinical, and forensic specimen collection accurately and safely

Prepare, label, and process specimens according to established protocols

Verify patient identity, demographics, initials, and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture

Ensure specimen labeling accuracy in the presence of the patient

Maintain required records, documentation, and data entry

Follow all safety, confidentiality (HIPAA), and quality standards

Create a professional, welcoming environment that builds patient trust

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and commitment to process excellence

Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment

Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public

Perform daily duties accurately and on time under supervisor direction
Required Skills & Competencies

Strong phlebotomy skills (pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting

Sound judgment and decision-making within established procedures

Comfortable with change and flexible scheduling

Basic computer, keyboarding, and data entry skills
Schedule & Work Conditions

Flexible schedule required, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime

Travel required to multiple locations with minimal notice

Training location may vary based on trainer availability
Education Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
-
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (PREFERRED)
-
Phlebotomy certification (PREFERRED; REQUIRED in CA, NV, and WA)
Experience Requirements
-
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience (REQUIRED)
-
Includes pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections

2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (PREFERRED)
-
Customer service experience in retail or service settings (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
