Skills: Ability to perform general Maintenance task exp. - equipment lubrication, Inspections and basic equipment repairs at the direction of higher ranking Maintenance techs.

This job posting is for the recruitment of a temporary maintenance technician for a 6+ month assignment. This position has the potential for conversion to FTE for the right, well-performing candidate.

This position is initially an 8 hr day shift position, Monday - Friday 07:30 - 04:30, with the future potential for rotating 1st/2nd shift hours on a case by case basis.

Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to contribute to maintaining equipment uptime of all process and facility equipment. The Maintenance Technician maintains equipment by taking direction on work orders and tasks to help ensure the effectiveness of the Pendergrass Premix Operations maintenance program. The Maintenance Technician works on and observes operating equipment to assure a safe and healthy work environment in conformity with Client SHE requirements, Client Security Requirements, Client Quality standards, OSHA compliance, best practices, and other relevant laws and regulations.

oversee and maintain the mechanical production operation equipment with all the activities and available resources for production, coordinating the activities with the different interaction areas, training, coaching, and mentoring personnel, assuring good manufacturing practices, adherence to Client Life Saving Rules, Client SHE Standards, FAMI-QS requirements for Food Safety, ISO 9001 standards.

Position context:
Animal Nutrition and Health Premix products (dry & liquid blend operations) play a key role in differentiation in the ANH business and needs to be produced in a safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

This position will focus on maintenance of equipment, and communication with production personnel to maintain compliance cost-effectively in line with global ANH objectives.

The use of ANH approved programs like Fiix and Unite-X (permitting) are required to be used to document compliance with maintenance programs.

This position MUST be able and willing to work overtime as needed to keep production in operation. The possibility of infrequent weekend work may be required at times.
Call-in during non-maintenance hours is also a possibility due to production operation requirements to meet customers on time in full commitments.
Position content:

a) Key areas of accountability/responsibility
1. Take direction from other maintenance technicians and the maintenance field planner regarding preventative maintenance scheduling, work order and task assignment, and job completion.
2. Complete assigned maintenance work orders to contribute to the efficient operation of the plant equipment.
3. Ensure the working environment is safe, compliant with ANH standards, and is in good condition for day-to-day operations.
4. Ensure safe maintenance work through risk assessments, obtaining permits to work, and complying with all process safety rules.
5. Enforce compliance of the production organization with the established requirement for Client SHE / Quality, cGMPs, ISO, work processes, and other rules and regulations.
6. Execute an efficient maintenance program to ensure minimization of downtime due to equipment failures.
7. Contribute to the improvement of the overall performance of the plant by conveying information from the maintenance department to the Pendergrass Leadership Team.

b) Authorities
1. Evaluate and report on equipment condition as it is observed during maintenance activities.
2. Evaluate worker and equipment conditions to ensure safe operations.
3. Report on task completion including consumed parts, and recommend spare parts as needed.

c) Projects/special assignments
1. Regular meetings with the Maintenance Field Planner and other Maintenance Techs.
2. Actively seek opportunities for improvements in the areas of operations, quality, safety, health and
environmental.

Complexity of the position:

The Pendergrass plant is working a 24/7 operation from Sunday night to Thursday evening. The Pendergrass maintenance team must work with the leadership team and production team (including supervisors) to focus on Safety for everyone as the primary goal. The next focus is to keep equipment safely running while keeping SHE, Quality, and Customer commitments. Production volume, number of customer orders, timely deliveries of raw materials, types of formulations to produce, coordination, and training of the workforce all have a direct impact on the position s complexity.
Knowledge, education, and experience requirements:

High School education or equivalent and 2-5 years of relevant experience.
Understanding of weights and measurements.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge required in multiple areas including:
o Mechanical
o Electrical
o Operational
o Welding
Must possess blend plant equipment knowledge and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to take direction from other department members.
Good people skills.
Good organization skills.
High degree of personal values, including strong ethics and business judgment.
Good business ethics.
Knowledge and use of computers and computer-controlled equipment and systems.
