Duration: 05/25/2026 – 08/19/2026
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Schedule: 5 days/week, 7 hours/day, 35 hours/week
Pay Range: $35-$40/hr.
Work Setting: Non-Acute - Allied
Requirements / Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year of experience
- Food and drug interaction education
- Patient screening
- Nutritional assessment
- Follow-up care
- Patient interviewing
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience
- History taking
- Laboratory data interpretation
- Physical data interpretation
- Social data interpretation
- Nutrition education
- Diet instruction
- Menu modification
Education:
Required Education:
- Graduate from accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Education:
- Master’s degree
Certifications & Licensure:
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State Certification, issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a “Dietitian-Nutritionist”
- Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (Primary Source Verification)
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
- AHA BLS
Job Summary:
- Monitors patients for and provides education on food/drug interactions
- Records food and drug interactions in the education section
- Consults with physicians regarding appropriate diet modification
Job Responsibilities:
- Screens and assesses patients in an accurate and timely manner based on levels of care
- Determines patients' nutritional needs and status and provides follow-up care
- Interviews patients and/or their families to obtain history of food habits and preferences
- Interprets pertinent laboratory, physical and social data in the medical record as it applies to nutrition care
- Provides nutrition education and records patient's diet and diet instructions and the patient's understanding of the diet in the education section
- Modifies patient menus as needed
