Must Have Skills
- 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment within controls and automation
- Ability to self-direct, take initiative, and demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, HMI development tools (FactoryTalk View Studio, Wonderware), and PLC programming (ControlLogix preferred)
- Familiarity with IT/networking and database applications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Understanding of instrumentation and measurement systems for process control
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of industrial environments, engineering, and production processes
- Experience with industrial networks and safety standards preferred
- Experience working with:
- 480/277VAC 3-phase systems
- 208/120VAC 3-phase systems
- 24VDC, 4-20mA, 0-5V, and 0-10V control circuits
- Knowledge of OSHA 1910, NFPA 70, 70E, and 79 safety standards and machine design specifications
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain industrial control software and networking platforms including:
- DeviceNet
- ControlNet
- Remote I/O
- DH+
- DH485
- Ethernet/IP
- HTML/XML, Python/Java, and SQL programming experience is a plus
Job Description
The PC&IS Engineer will be responsible for development and innovation in electrical design, programming, and digitization of automated, robotic, and information systems within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support Industrial Control Systems (ICS), PLCs, and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Lead manufacturing line controls and machine automation initiatives
- Drive process improvements related to material utilization, safety, efficiency, and cost reduction
- Support automation, robotics, instrumentation, and vision systems
- Troubleshoot industrial control systems, networking platforms, and automation software
- Work with power systems, computing technologies, and industrial networks
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and industry best practices
- Collaborate across engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing operations
- Provide leadership and technical guidance within automation and controls projects
Preferred Background
- Experience with robotics, vision systems, and industrial networking
- Knowledge of machine control systems and instrumentation
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
