Phlebotomist II
Duration: 5 months
Location: Jefferson MD
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30AM-12:30PM
Position Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of our company to patients visiting for routine health care or critical health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and strictly adhering to established practices and procedures. This role involves direct patient interaction, fostering an environment of trust and confidence, clearly explaining procedures, and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately. The PSR II exemplifies leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy regarding patient information. Assignments may include doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations as business needs require.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.

Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established protocols.

Verify patient demographic information, including patient initials and signature post-venipuncture, confirming that tubes were labeled correctly in their presence.

Maintain and update required records and documentation diligently.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:

Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Superior phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs.

Commitment to company policies and procedures, including dress code, employee health and safety, and everyday excellence guiding principles.

Sound decision-making based on established procedures and exercising good judgment.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Willingness and ability to travel and work across multiple locations with minimal notice.

Strong multitasking skills to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

Demonstrated superior customer focus with open, transparent communication skills; adaptability to change; and strong knowledge of our business.
Education & Certification:
-
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).

Phlebotomy certification
Experience:
-
At least FIVE years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Additional Details:
-
Critical position with immediate need to fill.

Several client locations currently at risk, requiring flexibility and quick response.

Training locations may vary depending on trainer availability.
