The Value Analysis Specialist supports the value chain analysis process, serving as a key liaison between the strategic sourcing team and clinical team to promote strategic, cost-effective use of products, services, and processes. This role leverages clinical data to evaluate product value and expenditures across the care continuum to identify cost-saving opportunities that enhance patient safety, drive quality outcomes, and support operational efficiency.

Position Summary:
The Value Analysis Specialist supports the value chain analysis process, serving as a key liaison between the strategic sourcing team and clinical team to promote strategic, cost-effective use of products, services, and processes. This role leverages clinical data to evaluate product value and expenditures across the care continuum to identify cost-saving opportunities that enhance patient safety, drive quality outcomes, and support operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the team through the Value Analysis process under direction of the Value Analysis Manager.
- Ensure selection and implementation of high-quality, cost-effective products and services aligned with organizational quality and savings goals.
- Provide clinical guidance to strategic sourcing regarding contractual decisions.
- Assess feasibility of initiatives proposed by Strategic Sourcing.
- Introduce initiatives to clinical partners and cultivate strong relationships with end users, vendors, GPO partners, and distribution partners.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to embed cost management strategies within departments, supporting program development, data analysis, and evaluation.
- Review outcomes of implemented changes to confirm alignment with savings and compliance targets.
- Identify gaps in adherence and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with Value Analysis Manager to resolve concerns related to quality and cost.
- Drive implementation and oversee all phases through go-live.
- Monitor and manage data integrity related to products, services, consumption patterns, and process performance.
- Analyze trends and compliance metrics, identify non-compliance, and implement targeted improvements.
- Partner with clinical leadership to reduce infections, improve Length of Stay (LOS), avoid injuries, and support cost reduction initiatives.
Decision Making:
- Exercises independent judgment in planning and sequencing operations and making minor decisions within a complex technical or professional field.
Working Relationships:
- Coordinates activities of others (no direct supervision).
- Works directly with patients/customers.
- Engages internal customers via phone or face-to-face.
- Interacts with external customers and healthcare professionals regularly.
- Frequently collaborates with individuals at Director level or above.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience; direct Value Analysis or Supply Chain experience in a large healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and other relevant software.
- Working knowledge of clinical and operational improvement processes.
- Strong analytical skills including cost-benefit and financial feasibility analysis.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills.
- Experience with project management concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership, performance improvement, and composure under stress.
- Strong initiative and motivation.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
- Exceptional data collection, analysis, and dissemination skills with attention to detail.
- Strong business acumen.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nursing, or related healthcare field.
Preferred Certification & Licensure:
- Valid Registered Nurse License (multi-state or Oklahoma).
- Certified Value Analysis Healthcare Professional (CVAHP) from AHVAP preferred.
