Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)

Licensure: Active RPH (Registered Pharmacist) license issued by the State of Texas

Must hold a valid, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy and perform clinical activities in Texas
Job Description
The Registered Pharmacist is responsible for promoting optimal pharmaceutical care by managing the medication-use process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual medication-related issues. All duties are performed in a developmentally appropriate manner for patients ranging from infant through adult, in alignment with Texas Children’s Hospital standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities

Verify the appropriateness of medication doses based on patient diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and potential drug interactions.

Accurately enter and verify medication orders within the electronic medical record to ensure patient safety and effective therapy.

Ensure accurate medication dispensing to prevent errors and maintain high-quality patient care.

Process medication orders and ensure timely preparation and delivery in accordance with established guidelines and service standards.

Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control practices during the preparation of sterile products.

Ensure pharmacy technicians and fellow pharmacists comply with aseptic and infection control standards.

Complete annual aseptic technique and infection control re-certification, achieving a minimum score of 90% on both skills validation and written examination.
