Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Contract Durations: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 40
Pay Rate: $21/hour negotiable
Role Overview:
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for verifying billing form accuracy, entering patient and billing data, investigating account inquiries, and ensuring timely reimbursement. This role requires a strong understanding of ICD-10/CPT coding, insurance billing guidelines, and compliance standards.

Role Overview:
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for verifying billing form accuracy, entering patient and billing data, investigating account inquiries, and ensuring timely reimbursement. This role requires a strong understanding of ICD-10/CPT coding, insurance billing guidelines, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review billing forms for accuracy and enter data into appropriate databases.
- Investigate billing inquiries, reviewing documentation such as CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, physician data, TOA, and insurance information.
- Prepare documentation related to account inquiries and resolutions.
- Maintain and update database of account inquiries; generate reports and summaries as needed.
- Identify reasons for claim denials and apply established protocols for resolution.
- Communicate with patients and other parties regarding billing discrepancies, payment arrangements, and account updates.
Education:
- Required: Associate’s Degree
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
Required:
- 2–3 years of medical billing experience, including Medicare, Medicaid, and 3rd-party reimbursement.
- Proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills to handle interactions with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Capable of multitasking and working under pressure.
- Accurate recording of financial information.
- Accounting and/or financial reporting experience.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
