Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Fayetteville, NC
Job Duration: 6 months (possible extension)
Shift: Mon – Fri 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM EST.
Pay rate: $19.93 - $21.35/hr on W2
Job Description:
The PSR II serves as the primary point of contact for patients visiting the facility and is responsible for delivering high-quality, professional patient service. This role involves collecting blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures are performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with established guidelines.
The PSR II creates a calm, confident, and respectful environment for patients while clearly explaining procedures and ensuring proper specimen identification and labeling. Accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail are essential at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen collection tasks accurately and on time
- Collect blood samples from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling
- Maintain complete and accurate records and documentation
- Follow all safety, infection control, and company procedures
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients and staff
- Work independently in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision
- Travel between sites as needed and support multiple locations
- Maintain professionalism and a positive organizational image
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric and geriatric collections)
- Strong venipuncture and capillary collection skills
- Customer service experience preferred
- Basic computer/data entry skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime if needed
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable)
- Phlebotomy certification preferred or required depending on state
