Roles and responsibilities:
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
- Have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
- Perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection. Phlebotomy experience – pediatric and geriatric capillary and venipuncture – required.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general.
Required qualifications:
- Three years phlebotomy experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills:
- Keyboard/data entry.
- Customer service.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
