Contract: 3 Months, Possible Contract to Hire
Job location: Remote, AZ (fully remote)


Job Description:
Responsible for leading and facilitating the analytics, decision support, and research functions of the assigned department.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, analyze, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for required reporting activities.
  • Extract, prepare, analyze, validate, and present data for standard and ad hoc reporting.
  • Interpret and analyze data; make recommendations regarding data accuracy, data collection needs, and processes.
  • Develop and implement plans to enhance overall unit reporting capabilities.
  • Facilitate reporting efforts using SQL or other data query tools to retrieve data from data warehouses and distributed databases.
  • Coordinate with IT on application enhancements and edits to improve data quality.
  • Mentor peers and co-workers as appropriate.
  • Lead prioritization and coordination of projects and report development efforts.
  • Oversee tracking and analysis of audit findings and related report generation.
Top Must-Have Skills (Hard Skills):
  • Extensive experience in interpreting, analyzing, and making recommendations regarding data accuracy and data collection needs and processes.
  • Strong experience in facilitating reporting efforts using SQL or related data query tools to generate reports or retrieve data from data warehouses and distributed databases.
  • Proficiency in proactively identifying and implementing improvements to reporting capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for clarifying business logic.
  • T-SQL knowledge and experience.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
  • Statistical analysis experience.
  • Snap Logic knowledge and experience.
  • Tableau knowledge and experience.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge and experience.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in statistical analysis and use of statistical packages.
  • Additional 3–4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Degree in Statistics, Research, Information Systems, or a health services-related field (e.g., Public Health, Health Science, Psychology) with an emphasis on analytics, reporting, research evaluation, or experimental design.
  • Strong writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership, process improvement, time management, and project management skills.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong expertise in MS Excel.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MS Access and MS SQL.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Actuate, Cognos, Crystal Reports, SAS, or similar.
  • Ability to query data warehouses and departmental systems to fulfill data requests.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver results within committed timelines.
  • Ability to estimate work effort accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree.
  • Managed care experience.
  • Strong database management experience.
