Job Title: Phlebotomist
Location: Neptune, NJ
Duration: 3+ months contract (Possibilities of Extension)

Pay Range: $24 - $29/hr. on W2

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. 5 x 8 hr shifts No Weekend. No Holiday. No On-Call
 
Summary:
The Phlebotomist is responsible for the proper collection of all specimen types on patients of all ages and in all states of health using proven techniques and appropriate collection devices to ensure safe and adequate collection.

Job Functions:

• Collects intravenous and/or capillary blood from newborn through geriatric aged patients using proper aseptic collection techniques.
• Draws intravenous and capillary blood into proper tubes and culture vials according to the purpose for which the specimen is to be tested.
• Performs blood drawing procedures.
• Maintains work area with proper level of supplies.
• Logs refrigerator temperature daily and informs section head if temperatures fall outside of optimal range.
• Keeps a log on all patient activity and sends daily to Outreach Section Head.
• Obtains all necessary information required for a patient test to be performed and billed properly.
• Travels and performs phlebotomy duties at off-site locations for corporate and municipal health fairs and delivers specimens to the laboratory as needed.
• Travels and performs phlebotomy duties to house calls as needed and delivers specimens to laboratory as needed.
