Role Overview:
The Scientist/Engineer will support the design, testing, and evaluation of drug delivery devices and prototypes for clinical trials. This role involves developing robust test plans, creating or sourcing new testing methods when standard approaches are insufficient, analyzing experimental data, and documenting findings in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). The position emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration to advance innovative solutions for patient and physician use.

Role Overview:

The position emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration to advance innovative solutions for patient and physician use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop test plans and experimental protocols for prototypes and formulations.
- Design new testing approaches or equipment when standard methods are not applicable.
- Conduct experiments using pulmonary, nasal, mechanical, and electromechanical device testing equipment.
- Analyze results using first principles, statistics, and Six Sigma concepts.
- Document work clearly and present conclusions and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
- Manage projects within the scope of the overall team objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. (3–5 years experience), M.S. (1–3 years), or Ph.D. (0–1 year) in Biomedical Engineering, or related fields with a chemistry/biology combination preferred.
- Hands-on experience with pulmonary/nasal device testing equipment (e.g., spray particle size analyzers, breathing simulators, impactors).
- Working knowledge of safe handling of powders/nebulized particles/droplets.
- Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- On-site attendance 5 days/week.
Preferred Skills:
- Operation of analytical equipment (e.g., ultra-high performance liquid chromatography, optical measuring systems).
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
- Technical writing, presentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Lab safety, equipment maintenance, and procurement experience.
- Familiarity with regulations (21 CFR 820.30, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).
- Comfortable wearing respiratory protective equipment when needed.
