Job Summary:
- The Senior Financial Analyst supports financial operations processes, including forecasting, planning, and financial and business performance analysis. This role is responsible for developing annual and quarterly plans by integrating financial data from multiple systems and providing strategic insights through analysis and reporting.
- The position delivers analytical support through monthly reporting, complex financial modeling, and ad hoc operational and financial reporting while ensuring data integrity. The Senior Financial Analyst also assists in identifying and evaluating opportunities to improve departmental performance and supports internal and external users of financial information. The role requires close collaboration across functions to enhance financial processes and align financial strategies with departmental and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare for and facilitate Monthly Operating Performance Reviews, providing documented commentary and actionable insights to achieve financial plans.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics; develop and maintain strategic scorecards to provide leadership with meaningful insights into organizational performance and goal progression.
- Assist in the development of business cases through financial modeling, in-depth analysis, and strategic insights to guide decision-making and evaluate opportunities.
- Perform complex financial, statistical, productivity, cost, and scenario analyses to evaluate and maximize return on investment (ROI).
- Collaborate closely with business partners to ensure accurate interpretation and conclusions from financial data.
- Deliver timely, accurate ad hoc financial analysis to support departmental and organizational initiatives.
- Actively plan and manage project progress, communicate status updates, and identify bottlenecks.
- Monitor operational outcomes Product expectations and communicate opportunities for improvement.
- Provide education and training to business partners on financial systems, tools, and the interpretation of financial reports.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in financial or business operations; two (2) years of experience in healthcare finance required.
- Strong interpersonal and human relations skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
- Ability to explain financial concepts clearly and Product cooperation for implementing internal controls.
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to independently research, analyze, and resolve issues.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of working autonomously.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence and professionalism.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage conflicting priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Understanding of healthcare billing, charge development, reimbursement processes, and healthcare financial reporting.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting, management, and business principles.
- Proven proficiency with databases and financial software applications.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, macros, pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting, data tables, and basic programming.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in healthcare financial analysis.
- Experience with Infor Financial & Supply Management, Cerner, or similar financial systems.
- Advanced proficiency with Power BI.
