Pre-Analytical Assistant I - 3rd Shift

Job Title: Pre-Analytical Assistant I
Location: Greensboro, NC
Duration: 3 Months of contract (temp to hire)
Shift/Time Zone: Mon - Fri 10:00 pm - 6:30 am. 

Pay rate: $19.78/hr on W2

Job Description: Basic Purpose:
Pre-Analytical Assistant I is responsible for general support functions within the Technical Operations Department.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Sort and receive specimens within the department
• Centrifuge specimens and prepare samples for testing
• Print labels, aliquot specimens, and build worklists
• Check specimens for clots and fibrin
• Perform slide preparation and inoculation
• Record and maintain temperature charts and other data logs
• Store and retrieve specimens
• Prepare reagents and/or media
• Perform routine instrument maintenance
• Complete QA/QC duties as assigned
• Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples
• Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous materials
• Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests
• Maintain departmental files and records
• Change gas cylinders as needed
• Follow all PPE requirements and safety regulations
• Operate laboratory computer systems and PCs
• Complete required training and competency assessments

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical assistant training preferred
• Coursework in math and science preferred

• No prior experience required

• Strong understanding of English (spoken and written) required
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
• Ability to retain and apply learned information
• Professional and respectful communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-production environment

• Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license (bus, Uber, or rideshare not considered reliable transportation)
• Must be punctual and available to work scheduled shifts in full
• Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination
• Must be able to wear required PPE (lab coat, gloves, goggles, mask, protective wear) when handling specimens.
