Position Title-Manufacturing Engineer CNC Programming
Location - Waterloo, IA 50703
Duration - 2 years
Work Schedule:
1st Shift: 7 am to 3:30 pm
Overtime possible
Immediate onsite start
Job Overview:
We are seeking a CNC Machining Programmer with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and a stable work history. This role involves developing CNC machining programs, supporting new CNC equipment projects, and innovating processes to enhance cost reduction, quality, and safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop CNC machining programs using CAM Software for both new and existing parts.
Support the introduction of new CNC equipment, from planning through production.
Develop complex NC machining processes.
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering to resolve issues.
Troubleshoot daily issues to support order fulfillment.
Innovate and implement improvement processes in cost, quality, and safety.
Test new processes and technologies effectively.
Understand manufacturing tooling principles, tool design, and quality.
Interpret product modeling, GD&T, and print interpretation.
Maintain documentation for perishable tooling.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in 3D CAD and CAM software, including FeatureCAM, EDGECAM, or equivalents.
Competency in NC Programming.
Experience with lathes and machining centers for steel or iron machining.
In-depth knowledge of tooling systems.
Strong computer and office software skills.
Experience with in-process gauging.
Multi-axis machining expertise.
Preferred Skills:
Excellent communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Strong motivation and initiative.
Background in robotics/automation.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
Additional Information:
Business casual dress code metatarsals required from day one.
Possibility of travel to other Waterloo facilities for training.
Potential to drive a Gator after training completion.
Interviews conducted via MS Teams, with onsite interviews possible.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
