Job Title: Public Health Administrator 1
Location: Nashville, TN 37243
Duration: Approximately 18 weeks (02/23/2026 – 06/30/2026)
Shift/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (CST)




Job Responsibilities:

  • Review licensure applications, permits, and certifications for completeness, accuracy, and eligibility per laws, policies, and procedures.

  • Recommend approval or rejection of applications and forward recommendations to supervisor.

  • Process reciprocity and renewal requests in accordance with applicable regulations.

  • Evaluate licensing certificates, registrations, and statements of authority.

  • Ensure licenses and reports are completed accurately and mandates are implemented.

  • Issue licenses, certificates, registrations, or statements of authority.

  • Match payments with licensee records and process expenditure reports as required.

  • Enter, update, and maintain data in licensing databases, including payment postings and adjustments.

  • Maintain license payment records, manage refunds/returned checks, and prepare board reports.

  • Handle complaints and respond to applicant and public inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and laws.

  • Coordinate board/commission meetings and schedule competency examinations.

  • Notify applicants of examination details and results; prepare meeting and testing facilities.

  • Communicate case status and findings to supervisors and relevant personnel.

  • Monitor case investigations and, when applicable, applicants during examinations.




Requirements:

  • Experience in administrative or regulatory board support functions.

  • Knowledge of licensing processes, policies, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong data entry, recordkeeping, and reporting skills.

  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and procedures.

  • Proficiency with computer systems and databases.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.




Preferences:

  • Prior experience working with government agencies or public health departments.

  • Familiarity with licensing, certification, or credentialing processes.
