- Shift: Will need to be flexible specific start/end time on call and call back required
- Bill Rate: $95.00
Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technician performs a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures across multiple departments, including outpatient services. This role involves close collaboration with radiologists and other licensed physicians by providing high-quality images and relevant data to support accurate interpretation, as well as assisting with interventional procedures.
The technician exercises independent judgment in conducting examinations and managing complex or unusual situations. Responsibilities also include evaluating images for technical quality, ensuring optimal diagnostic results, and maintaining high standards of patient care.
In addition, the Ultrasound Technician supports departmental operations by taking on additional assignments as needed and participates in after-hours coverage through an on-call rotation.
Education:
- Certificate or diploma in diagnostic medical sonography required.
Licensure/Certification:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) preferred.
- Current BLS Certification
Experience:
- Ability to handle emergencies or high-acuity cases
- Strong technical skills operating ultrasound equipment
- Ability to analyze image quality and adjust technique
- Critical thinking and independent judgement during exams
- Knowledge of anatomy, pathology and physiology
- Effective communication with physicians and patients
- Maintains a working knowledge of current CMS, Title 22, OSHA, and DNV standards.
- Demonstrates effective written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work on-call, weekends, or nights
- Read, understand, and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing in communicating with public/co-workers, giving, and receiving instructions. Additional languages preferred
