REGISTRATION CLERK-FLOAT

Job Title: Registration Clerk – Float
Location: Salinas, CA
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Variable (Flexibility Required)
Pay Rate: $20–$25/hour

• Register inpatient and outpatient clients by accurately collecting and entering demographic and financial information
• Greet patients, families, and visitors with professionalism, empathy, and calm under pressure
• Verify patient identity using government-issued photo identification
• Obtain insurance details, pre-authorizations, and required patient signatures
• Prepare, process, and route patient charts, labels, ID bands, and registration documents
• Create and apply patient identification bands and labels accurately
• Review all entered data for accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate transfers, bed swaps, and system updates as applicable
• Communicate with physician offices to secure authorization numbers when required
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, including Advance Directives for Healthcare Decisions

• Minimum 1 year of experience in medical office administration and/or data entry
• Strong attention to detail with high data-accuracy standards
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic, patient-facing environment
