Duration: 3 Months+ (Possible Extension)
Pay Range: $25 - $26.30/hr. on W2
Shift: 3rd Shift – 10 PM to 6:30 AM

Provide project support by performing test setup, monitoring, inspection, and reporting according to test plans. Candidates should have hands-on mechanical/electrical experience and familiarity with tools, schematics, and machinery.

Purpose of Role:
Provide project support by performing test setup, monitoring, inspection, and reporting according to test plans. Candidates should have hands-on mechanical/electrical experience and familiarity with tools, schematics, and machinery.
Major Duties:
- Assemble test rigs per layout drawings and instructions, including:
- Mechanical assembly using hand tools, battery, and air impact wrenches
- Use of overhead cranes
- Connecting hydraulic plumbing and electrical control cables
- Bending, kneeling, and working at floor level; lifting up to 25 lbs
- Document changes to setup procedures and layout drawings for continuous improvement
- Monitor and adjust test controls for efficient operation
- Perform test specimen inspections and repairs according to defined parameters
- Document all test incidents and activities in a web-based application
- Coordinate with Deere personnel to prevent safety/environmental issues or equipment failures; perform emergency shutoffs if needed
- Perform routine lab maintenance, cleaning, and tool/equipment organization
- Pick up parts from the John Deere Parts Distribution Center and complete other lab errands
Preferred Background/Skills:
- Experience working on machinery (tear down and repair); automotive, mechanical, or electrical technician background ideal
- Ability to read dimensioned part drawings and test layout drawings
- Familiarity with Windows file/folder structure; basic computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with servo-hydraulic or hydraulic systems preferred (not required)
