Phlebotomist II

Duration: 5 months
Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring quality blood sample collection and specimen preparation for lab testing. This role involves direct patient interaction, creating a trusting environment while explaining procedures and ensuring safe, accurate blood draws. The PSR II follows established procedures, demonstrates leadership, and prioritizes confidentiality and accuracy in patient information. The position may be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform accurate daily tasks on time under supervisor direction.

Maintain a safe and professional environment.

Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following protocols.

Verify patient information and ensure proper labeling post-venipuncture.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Promote a positive image and maintain organizational commitment.
Job Requirements:

High-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Flexible schedule (weekends, holidays, on-call, overtime).

Adherence to company policies, dress code, and health & safety guidelines.

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Must manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Superior customer service skills and strong communication abilities.
Education & Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in certain states).
-
3+ years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

2+ years experience in a Patient Service Center preferred.

Customer service experience in retail/service environments preferred.

Data entry/keyboard experience.
Additional Requirements:
-
Minimum 7 years of pediatric blood collection experience.
