Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: New Port Richey, FL
Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Saturday 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist I serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing skilled and accurate blood specimen collection for lab testing while creating a welcoming and professional environment. The role requires adherence to established procedures, attention to detail, and maintaining patient trust and confidentiality. The Phlebotomist I demonstrates leadership behaviors and supports process excellence in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Collect quality blood specimens from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established clinical and forensic protocols.

Prepare, label, and handle specimens accurately for laboratory testing.

Maintain complete and accurate records, documentation, and patient information with confidentiality.

Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly and creating a safe, professional environment.

Perform daily tasks efficiently and independently while adhering to workplace safety and company standards.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, colleagues, and the public.
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).

Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required; 1+ years preferred.

Strong customer service, keyboarding, and data entry skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Reliable transportation and punctuality required; excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.

Candidates must live within 20–25 minutes of the worksite.

Pay rate is based on direct phlebotomy experience; overlapping roles do not count twice.
