Job Description:
The Incoming Inspection Technician is responsible for performing inspections on purchased materials and sub-assemblies for use in medical device applications in compliance with client Quality Management System, International Standards, and regulatory requirements. This employee will perform inspection activities associated with the release of materials to production, qualification of new and modified parts, and nonconformance investigations.

Job Description:
The Incoming Inspection Technician is responsible for performing inspections on purchased materials and sub-assemblies for use in medical device applications in compliance with client Quality Management System, International Standards, and regulatory requirements. This employee will perform inspection activities associated with the release of materials to production, qualification of new and modified parts, and nonconformance investigations.
Responsibilities:
- Measure parts, fixtures, tooling, and assemblies utilizing appropriate tools and fixtures in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
- Execute Quality Inspection tasks in SAP to ensure timely and accurate inventory control.
- Ensure equipment complies with calibration and preventive maintenance requirements before use; take appropriate action if deviations are found.
- Accurately document test data and observations; retain paperwork and electronic records.
- Organize and summarize inspection/test results and prepare reports following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Review vendor certificates and inspection data to ensure compliance with client specifications.
- Provide input for continuous improvement of inspection procedures, specifications, and processes.
- Participate in internal, ISO, and other audits.
- Initiate nonconformance reports on defective material; support Operations in investigations and product disposition.
- Assist in qualification/validation activities; perform corrective actions to resolve issues.
- Communicate raw material and product quality issues to management.
- Maintain knowledge of instruments used for routine and non-routine sample testing and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure work meets standards, acceptance criteria, and quality policies.
- Maintain a positive work environment by promoting cooperation with customers, collaborators, vendors, co-workers, and management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing facility, preferably regulated environments such as automotive, aerospace, or medical device.
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; proficient with GD&T.
- Knowledge of metrology, materials, calibration, auditing, and inspection techniques.
- General understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Understanding of traceability concepts (product, material, and calibration).
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspections is desired.
- Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
