Job Title: Senior Chemist
Location: Plymouth, MN 55441
Duration: 8 Months+

Schedule: 40 hours/week, Onsite

Pay range: $35 - $40/hr. on W2


Must Have:


  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and lead projects.
  • Expertise in combination device analytical test method development and validation.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
 
Nice to Have:
  • Advanced degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in R&D within medical device or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Experience with new product development and sustaining project support.
  • Expertise in combination device analytical test method development and validation: HPLC, GC, dissolution, bioassay.
  • Formulation and testing experience with adhesives, cyanoacrylates preferred.
  • Expertise with analytical instrumentation, including troubleshooting: dissolution USP Apparatuses, HPLC-DAD, GPC, GC-FID/MS, Karl Fischer, FT-IR and UV-Vis.
  • Experience in moderate and complex data analyses using statistical techniques.
  • Experience of using chromatography software: Empower and MassHunter.
  • Experience using common electronic documentation software (e.g. MAP, Agile or equivalent).
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
  • Conducts exploratory research to produce new knowledge and potential products; conceives, organizes, promotes, and executes ideas and plans to increase chemistry's role in and contribution to the discovery and chemical approaches to meet exploratory objectives in product discovery.
  • Develops research proposals to provide a technically and economically sound basis for developing and evaluating new or improved products, synthetic methods, processes, and analytical and physical testing techniques.
  • Recommends utilization of the results or changes in the scope of work or termination of projects.
 
Specialist Career Stream:
  • Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty.
  • Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.
  • May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals.
  • The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects from design to implementation while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education (typically University).

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Requires a University Degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
