Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Location: Colorado Springs CO
Job Duration: 3+ Months
Shift: Varying shift 7am - 5pm
Overview:
The Patient Services Representative III – Floater (PSR III) serves as the face of the company for patients who visit for routine health services or important diagnostic testing. The PSR III is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures are followed accurately and safely. This role requires creating a trusting and confident environment, explaining procedures clearly, and performing venipunctures skillfully.
The PSR III demonstrates strong leadership behaviors, adheres to confidentiality standards, and maintains the highest level of accuracy. Assignments may vary and can include doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations as business needs change.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily duties accurately, efficiently, and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.

Verify patient demographics and post-venipuncture signatures to ensure correct labeling and patient identification.

Maintain all required records and documentation.

Promote organizational values and maintain a positive, professional image with patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.

Assist across multiple locations as needed, serving as a floater within the assigned territory.
Job Requirements:

Ability to deliver accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including dress code, safety protocols, and everyday excellence guidelines.

Strong decision-making skills based on established procedures.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Willingness to travel, work flexible hours, and cover multiple PSC and in-office phlebotomy sites with minimal notice.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Demonstrated superior customer service skills and strong communication with peers, supervisors, and patients.

Ability to adapt to change and maintain knowledge of business operations.
Training locations may vary depending on trainer availability.
Education Requirements:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Preferred: medical assistant or paramedic training.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
-
Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Minimum of two years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment preferred.

Customer service experience in retail or service settings preferred.
-
Keyboarding and data-entry experience.

Territory: Colorado Springs, Fountain, Pueblo, and Canon City.
