Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 3+ Months (Possible Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM




Position Summary

The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the frontline representative of the organization, providing highquality service and patient care. This role is responsible for collecting quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring a professional, safe, and compassionate environment. The PSR I builds trust with patients by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws with exceptional skill and accuracy.

The PSR I is expected to demonstrate leadership behaviors, uphold confidentiality, and maintain high standards of accuracy and process excellence.




Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily departmental activities accurately, efficiently, and on time under the supervision of the Area Supervisor.
  • Ensure a safe, professional, and customerfocused work environment at all times.
  • Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection following established protocols and procedures.
  • Prepare, label, handle, and process patient specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Accurately maintain all required documentation, logs, and records.
  • Provide clear communication to patients regarding procedures, fostering trust and comfort.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and represent the company positively to patients, clients, staff, and the general public.
  • Adhere to quality and safety standards while maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information.



Job Requirements



Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to deliver highquality, errorfree work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.
  • Flexible and available to work as needed, including weekends, holidays, oncall shifts, and overtime.
  • Proficient keyboarding and data entry skills.


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent – Required
  • Medical training (Medical Assistant, Paramedic, etc.) – Preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification – Preferred
    • Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.


Work Experience

  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience – Required
  • 1+ year phlebotomy experience – Preferred
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environment – Preferred
