Job Title: Endoscopic Technician
Location: 700 NE 13th, OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Pay: $40–$45 per hour
Schedule:

Full-time (40 hours/week)

Job Summary
Under immediate to general supervision, the Endoscopic Technician provides technical support for endoscopic procedures performed in an operating or procedure room. The technician is also responsible for receiving, handling, and distributing endoscopic products (endoProducts) and equipment required for procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
Core responsibilities that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

Deliver and set up audio-visual equipment in designated procedure rooms

Perform bedside pre-cleaning of endoProducts
-
Maintain accurate records of inventory and reprocessed items
-
Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform minor repairs on equipment
-
Ensure timely reprocessing of instruments to support ongoing procedures
-
Move lights and flat panels to appropriate locations
-
Operate Medivators Advantage Plus Automated EndoProduct Reprocessors
-
Follow manufacturer instructions for equipment use and disinfection
-
Coordinate equipment repairs and arrange loaners when needed
-
Clean, decontaminate, assemble, package, and high-level disinfect endoProducts and bronchoscopic instruments
-
Support endoscopists by manipulating instruments and ensuring patient safety
-
Monitor procedures and provide additional supplies or instruments as needed
-
Recognize and correct breaks in sterile technique
-
Clean and disinfect contaminated instruments, equipment, and procedure rooms
-
Dispose of soiled linen properly
-
Assist in training new GI Technicians as needed
Required Skills & Experience
-
At least 1 year of experience as a surgical technologist or equivalent healthcare experience
-
Experience in reprocessing endoProducts
-
Ability to follow written and oral instructions clearly
-
Proficiency with computers and relevant medical equipment
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-
Skill in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining audio/video and sterilization equipment (Steris, autoclave, etc.)
-
Ability to record surgical procedures using A/V equipment
Education Requirements
Required:

High school diploma or GED
Preferred:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or related field
Certifications & Licensure
Required:
-
Certified Endoscopic Reprocessor (CER) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM)
