Travel: Up to 90% (Field-Based Role)

Education: Minimum High School Diploma Required
Experience: Considerable related experience required
 
Position Summary:
Seeking a Senior Safety Specialist with a strong background in logging operations to support the front-end planning and pre-construction phases of projects. This role is highly field-oriented and requires extensive travel. The specialist will ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations, oversee fire protection standards, and manage hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support safety planning and compliance during front-end project development and pre-construction phases.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations, including OSHA and Minerals Management Service (MMS) requirements.
  • Develop and enforce fire protection standards across project sites.
  • Oversee hazardous material and chemical management, including transportation compliance.
  • Conduct industrial hygiene sampling and safety surveys.
  • Identify potential safety risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Deliver safety briefings, training sessions, and presentations to field teams and stakeholders.
  • Prepare safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
  • Serve as a safety subject matter expert for logging and field operations.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong background in logging operations safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state safety regulations and OSHA standards.
  • Full knowledge of fire protection standards.
  • Experience with hazardous material/chemical management and transportation regulations.
  • Experience with industrial hygiene sampling and surveying techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in field environments with extensive travel.
 
Work Environment:
  • Field-based role with up to 90% travel.
  • Outdoor and industrial environments.
  • May involve exposure to logging sites, heavy equipment operations, and hazardous materials.
