Position Summary:
The Engineering Site Project Engineer (Project Manager I) is responsible for managing and executing engineering projects with a focus on construction and facility upgrades in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This position requires deep technical expertise, leadership in managing external vendors and internal cross-functional teams, and strict adherence to compliance and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess experience in facilities projects, particularly involving roofing or construction within pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industries.

Core Skill Set Requirements:
- Experience in construction/roofing – Required
- Project management experience within pharmaceutical facilities – Preferred (solid orals environment)
- Master’s degree in Engineering – Required
- Project Management Certification – Required
- Minimum 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience – Required
- Strong knowledge of compliance, engineering, and maintenance/project management in regulated industries
- Proficiency with Project Management tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Advanced knowledge of construction methods, particularly roofing systems
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations and loss control measures
- Ability to physically work in active construction environments: standing, climbing ladders, navigating construction sites
Position Summary:
The Engineering Site Project Engineer (Project Manager I) is responsible for managing and executing engineering projects with a focus on construction and facility upgrades in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This position requires deep technical expertise, leadership in managing external vendors and internal cross-functional teams, and strict adherence to compliance and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess experience in facilities projects, particularly involving roofing or construction within pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industries.
Essential Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead project planning and execution, including developing schedules, managing budgets, and coordinating resources
- Prepare Capital Investment Requests and supporting documents:
- URS (User Requirements Specifications)
- BOD (Basis of Design)
- Functional Specs
- Qualification documentation
- Oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure quality, timeline, and cost compliance
- Provide technical leadership for capital asset purchases and major engineering initiatives
- Monitor and report project progress to senior management, escalating risks as needed
- Conduct and support quality investigations (e.g., CAPAs) related to process/product issues
- Drive cost-saving initiatives within the project management framework
- Ensure team compliance with internal quality, safety, and regulatory policies
- Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations for management
- Generate project metrics and performance reports as required
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Skilled at report writing, presentations, and leading cross-functional discussions
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a diverse team
- Capable of identifying deviations from standard practices and implementing improvements
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing and walking in construction areas
- Regular use of ladders, PPE, and safety gear
- Navigating active building and roofing construction environments
