Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Grapevine, TX
Job Duration: 2+ Months (with possibility of extension)
Shift Timings:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- Rotational Saturdays as needed
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as a key representative of the organization, interacting directly with patients for routine health screenings and critical diagnostic procedures. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing, while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality. Successful candidates may be assigned to a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and confirm labeling accuracy post-venipuncture.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and commitment to process excellence.
- Travel to multiple locations and provide coverage with minimal notice.
Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience (Required), including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in retail or service settings (Preferred)
- Keyboard/data entry experience (Required)
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong phlebotomy skills across all age groups.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
- Commitment to company policies, dress code, health & safety standards, and guiding principles.
Additional Information:
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
- Candidates must be available to work scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and complete full shifts.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
