Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Location: Edison, New Jersey, 08818
Duration: 09/08/2025 – 12/06/2025
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Schedule: 5 Days Per Week, 40 Hours Per Week
Schedule Notes: Monday–Friday. Holidays – As Needed. No Weekends. At least 4 on-call shifts per month required, or one weekend day per month if not available for weekday call. No float requirements.
Pay Range: $42-$47/hr.

• At least 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care facility – Required

• Strong experience in Neurosurgery

• Experience in at least two of the following specialties – Required:
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Robotic
  • Endovascular Surgery

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program or appropriate training program – Required

• Professional certification by the AST – Preferred

• Responsible for cleaning and handling instruments per standard policy while maintaining updated records.

• Follows policy for set-up standardization and uses surgeon preferences.

• Ensures proper care, organization, and return of all instruments and clean supplies.

• Maintains accurate counts of sponges, needles, instruments, and medications per policy.

• Handles specimens per O.R. Policy and Procedures.

• Manages contamination control, sterilization, disinfection, and sanitation.

• Disposes of used and contaminated materials correctly at procedure end.

• Participates in care planning and revising patient care plans with circulator.

• Maintains skills proficiency checklist across equipment and specialties.

• Physically capable: Lifts minimum of 50 lbs., pushes/pulls up to 400 lbs., stands for entire shift.

• Modifies and delivers patient care according to specific needs (age, culture, language, etc.).

• Adheres to Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies.
