Phlebotomist Floater
Title: Phlebotomist Floater
Location: West Hartford, CT
Duration: 4 months
Shift: M-F between 6am-5:30pm and alternating Saturdays 7am-12pm.
Pay Rate: $20.24 - $22/hr. on w2
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as the face of the company by providing excellent patient care during blood collection procedures. This role requires advanced phlebotomy skills, professionalism, and flexibility to float between multiple sites and roles. The ideal candidate ensures accurate and safe specimen collection and supports daily operations across various healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients

Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory testing

Float between Patient Service Centers (PSC), In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP), Long-Term Care (LTC), and mobile collection sites

Create a positive and professional patient experience; explain procedures clearly

Act as on-site lead when needed; mentor and train new employees

Support onboarding for new staff and clients

Handle complex test orders and collaborate with internal teams (Sales, IT, Billing, Lab Services)

Maintain patient confidentiality and accuracy in all documentation

Perform data entry and utilize computer systems for patient and specimen tracking
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Phlebotomy Certification: Required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred in other states

Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred
-
5+ years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric draws

3+ years experience in Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy environment preferred

Customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting preferred

Strong keyboarding and data entry skills

Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Strong communication and leadership skills
