Job Title: Route Service Representative / Driver
Job Location: San Leandro, CA
Job Duration: 3+ Months
Shift: Mon - Fri 01:30 PM - 10:00 PM PST.
 
Pay Range: $22 - $25/hr. on W2.
 
Position Summary:
The Route Service Representative (RSR) is the face of *** to our customers and the public. As an Ambassador of the company, the RSR is responsible for day-to-day route operations, including the proper tracking, sorting, storing, and transportation of patient specimens, medical supplies, and client materials.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently transport specimens, supplies, reports, and materials to designated locations.
• Start each route fully equipped: handheld scanner or paper logs, carry bag, properly prepared coolers (for 3 separate thermal storage), dry ice, cell phone, keys, etc.
• Follow scheduled routes with flexibility for will-call stops and special pickups.
• Maintain specimen integrity at all times using proper temperature-controlled containers and transport protocols.
• Accurately complete all scanning and documentation, including frozen/tissue/irreplaceable tracking procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professionalism at all times.
• Leave door hangers for will-call or regular clients when no specimens are available and report to Supervisor for follow-up.
• Update and maintain accurate route notes and client instructions.
• Communicate with Dispatch before leaving service areas to confirm all will-calls are complete.
• Attend required meetings and training sessions.
• Ensure compliance with all policies regarding attendance, timekeeping, safety, equipment care, dress code, and code of conduct.
• Operate company vehicle safely and maintain cleanliness.
• Report any vehicle or equipment issues promptly.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per company guidelines.

 
Required: Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (max of 3 moving violations within 36 months). Minimum 1 year of driving experience.
Preferred: 1 year of customer service, delivery, or logistics experience.
 
Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 40 lbs); carry up to 15 lbs for several minutes.
• Prolonged periods of driving, standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling.
• Frequent use of handheld devices and phone communication.
• Visual acuity for detailed and low-light environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English with clients and team members.

 
Miles Driven Per Day: Approx. 100 miles
Specimens Picked Up Daily: Approx. 300
Other Duties: May include pack-out, shuttle routes, or additional logistical tasks
