The role may include performing Medical Assistant duties, managing patient flow, scheduling, documentation, and supporting revenue cycle processes.

Job Summary:
The CMA provides both clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons, assisting with patient care, office operations, and ensuring quality service delivery. The role may include performing Medical Assistant duties, managing patient flow, scheduling, documentation, and supporting revenue cycle processes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Clinical Support (if performing MA duties):
- Perform venipuncture, EKGs, point-of-care testing.
- Assist patients with walking, transferring, dressing, and room prep.
- Take vital signs and support physicians during procedures.
- Prepare exam rooms and instruments following infection control standards.

Administrative Support:
- Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and procedures; verify times with patients.
- Acquire insurance authorizations and manage medical records/EMR charts.
- Enter orders or prescription refill requests into EMR for physician approval.
- Prepare documents for surgical billing packages and physician correspondence.
- Help direct patient flow and support office efficiency.

General Responsibilities:
- Participate in revenue cycle processes and medical scribe duties as assigned.
- Maintain logging systems for test results and patient care documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and office operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Associates Degree or High School Diploma/GED plus 2 years related experience; graduation from a Medical Assistant Program if performing clinical duties.
- Experience: 3+ years of related experience.
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant required if performing MA duties.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of EMR and/or billing systems preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities and work environment.
- Strong decision-making, time management, and quality orientation.
