Phlebotomist Floater - 1st Shift

Job Title: Phlebotomist III – Float
Location: Bristol, CT
Duration: 3 months
Shift: Day/Eastern – Monday–Friday 5:30 AM–10:30 AM; Alternate Saturday 7:00 AM–12:00 PM

Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist III – Float is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing. This role involves working across multiple locations and patient settings, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe specimen collection. The position requires strong patient interaction, maintaining professionalism, and building trust while explaining procedures clearly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collections (including pediatric and geriatric patients)
• Prepare and handle specimens according to established procedures
• Travel between sites and support various patient service environments
• Ensure daily operations are completed accurately and on time
• Provide leadership, guidance, and training to team members when needed
• Act as a point of contact for staff and support onboarding of new employees
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and customer service

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
• Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience
• At least 3 years in a Patient Service Center or similar setting preferred
• Strong customer service and data entry skills
