Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Wilmington, NC
Job Duration: 3 Months (Possible extension)
Shift: Mon-Fri 07:00 am - 04:00 pm
Pay rate: $19.30 - $21.55/hr on W2
Overview
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company to patients, whether for routine health visits or important diagnostic needs. This role involves collecting quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring patient comfort and trust throughout the process. The PSR II demonstrates professionalism, accuracy, and leadership while maintaining confidentiality and process excellence.
Primary Responsibilities

Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection following established procedures.

Verify patient demographic information and ensure all specimens are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence.

Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company standards.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.

Provide superior customer service by communicating clearly, compassionately, and effectively.
Job Requirements

Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Commitment to company policies, dress code, health & safety standards, and guiding principles.

Strong decision-making and sound judgment within established procedures.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (no rideshare reliance).

Ability to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.

Skilled at managing multiple priorities in high-volume settings.

Demonstrates superior customer focus, transparent communication, adaptability to change, and business awareness.
Education
-
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Preferred: Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic).

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience
-
Required: Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Preferred: At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment.

Prior customer service experience in a retail or service setting preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience required.
