Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Timings: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Schedule Requirement: Rotating Saturdays as needed
Position Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (Phlebotomist II) serves as the frontline representative of the organization, interacting directly with patients as part of their routine healthcare or critical diagnostic journeys. This role is responsible for collecting highquality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience through professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality, and compassion.
The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and a strong commitment to patient safety while maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy. Assignments may include doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Area Supervisor, the Phlebotomist II will:
- Perform daily phlebotomy and patient service activities accurately and on time
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
- Collect and process both forensic and clinical specimens in accordance with established procedures
- Verify patient identity, demographics, and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling compliance
- Ensure specimen tubes are labeled in the patient’s presence with correct patient information
- Maintain accurate records and required documentation
- Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and promote a positive image of the company to patients, clients, employees, and the public
- Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and performing blood draws safely and skillfully
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver highquality, errorfree work in a fastpaced, highvolume environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Strong decisionmaking abilities and sound judgment based on established procedures
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as required
- Willingness to travel and cover multiple Patient Service Center and InOffice Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice
- Superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate openly and professionally with patients, peers, and supervisors
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to change
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; Required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Required Experience
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (Required)
- Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)
- Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment (Highly Preferred)
- Keyboarding and data entry experience (Required)
