Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Louisville KY
Job Duration: 5+ months (Possibilities of Extension)
Shift: 7:30 AM - 1 PM M-F
Position Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients who visit for routine health needs or important diagnostic insights. The PSR II is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures. This role requires exceptional patient interaction skills, maintaining an atmosphere of trust, confidence, and professionalism while ensuring safe, accurate specimen collection.
Successful candidates may be assigned to a doctor’s office, Patient Service Center, or other designated locations based on business needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection

Perform accurate and timely daily activities under the direction of the area supervisor.

Collect forensic and clinical specimens confidently following established practices and procedures.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm tubes are labeled correctly in the patient's presence.

Explain procedures clearly to patients and ensure a safe, comfortable experience.
Laboratory & Documentation

Prepare collected specimens for laboratory testing according to guidelines.

Maintain required records, logs, and documentation accurately and thoroughly.

Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of patient information at all times.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collection experience.

Schedule & Work Expectations

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, overtime, and variable hours based on staffing needs.

Travel required to cover multiple locations, often with minimal notice.

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Education Requirements

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience

Required: 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
